Our New House: Outdoor Fall Decor

Our New House: Outdoor Fall Decor

So yes, I have been SLOW with posting on the blog over the past few months. Main reason being we moved over the summer. It was unexpected as we were certainly not looking, but a cool property popped up, we were charmed by it, and we took the plunge.

This house is much different from our last home (last year's fall home tour HERE), which was newer construction. Our new house was built in the 70s and has a much older vibe, but the overall feel of the house, the space and some unique features, really made us feel it was a great house for our family.

Since the inside is a work in progress, I will be sharing little projects as I go, but for now I will share what I did to the outside.

Although the home is a good size, the outside appears more modest and cozy and the little brick side porch is one of the features of the home that I especially love.

For the porch, I purchased THESE white rocking chairs and THIS monogram letter. The wreath I bought at HomeGoods a few years back. The "Give Thanks" door mat I found at Aldi for 7 bucks!

For the front door I used the same wreaths that I had last year at our old house, I bought them at JoAnn's. One thing I knew I wanted for this house was a set of old cast iron urns.  I LOVE the old look of them, especially with ferns. I was fortunate to find a pair at a local antique store. I got them for a great price because it was the end of the season.  I had to give them some TLC and I will do a separate post (complete with videos!) elaborating on the process.

I would like to eventually add window boxes, shutters, and some more landscaping to the outside of the house, but for now I am enjoying just sprucing it up a bit for the holidays!

As we speak my poor mums are pretty much brown, so I of course am brainstorming ideas for Christmas decor! The fun never ends!! Enjoy the rest of the fall season friends!
