Splurge vs Steal: Top Spring Shoe Picks 2017

Splurge vs Steal: Top Spring Shoe Picks 2017

As I have mentioned before, I am a splurge and save shopper, and needless to say with three little ones, I tend to make the greatest efforts to do more saving than splurging. Speaking of my little ones, I chase them around (and mean literally chase them around) daily so practicality in my shoe game is a must.

Here are my top picks for hot shoes for this spring and why I love them.

1. Blush Slip on Sneakers

I literally have been wearing these like crazy and its only March. Blush is a very popular shade right now and it is much more neutral than you think. These shoes are very comfortable and would look adorable with white jeans, shorts, and military green. Lately I have been wearing them with THESE leggings.  HERE ($59.95) is a more expensive option if you do not like the fit of the ones from Target, but coming in at 25 bucks (or less they have been on sale recently) you can't go wrong!

2. Espadrilles Wedge Sandals

Okay, so in my opinion these are pretty much the "IT" shoe right now. Last year the high end designer, Chloe designed a pair of espadrilles  ($660) that became wildly popular. Now you can find several dupe versions. I almost bought THESE, ($159.95) but came across the ones you see below for under 60 bucks.  They are very comfortable and because they are a wedge they are still mom friendly. No, I won't be wearing them to the playground anytime soon, but I think they would be okay if we go to a party, or church, and of course I'll be wearing them on date nights and out with girlfriends. (FYI They are a little on the wide side, I have a pretty narrow foot but if you have normal to wide they will likely fit you even better.)

3. A block heel sandal.

I still feel like I need a black pair, but I fell in love with this light blue color. Like the blush, I feel like the light blue could also serve as a really pretty neutral. I am already envisioning wearing them with white jeans and a darker navy lightweight sweater. These are for sure more of a date night shoe, but again, for this price ($29.99) I feel much less guilty. HERE is another pricier pair.

4. The Athleisure Sneaker

It's very exciting how acceptable and stylish sneakers have become. I have my go-to pair of gray Nike's similar to these below. I am very tempted to try out THESE slip-on sneakers that are getting great reviews.  Sneakers can be a little on the pricier side, but they are one of those items that is a little less trendy, you will likely get a lot of wear out of them, and they are practical (or at least that's my rationale, wink, wink).

In addition to my Nike's, I am still a white Converse loving girl. I know out there in bloggerland everyone is rocking THESE white Adidas sneakers, but I can't; they just aren't me. I still personally think Converses are classic and look amazing with some distressed jean shorts on a hot summer night when you are headed out for an ice cream cone.

5. Laser Cut Wedge

This is another very trendy and popular shoe among fashion bloggers. The most popular one is THIS shoe by Jeffrey Campbell. The shoes are, however, 145 bucks. I found very similar ones HERE for 40 plus shipping.  Again, I like the comfort of a wedge and I am a fan of this unique design.

6. Peep Toe Booties

I think these are a great shoes to transition between seasons. They look adorable with skinny blue jeans and even a flowy floral print shift dress. HERE is a pricier pair for 149.95 and HERE is a similar style for only $32.99.

7. Creeping into Summer Sandals

In the splurge department my two favorite pricier sandals are definitely THESE by Tory Burch and THESE by Jack Rogers. I do feel that they are very versatile, last through many seasons, and are more classic/less trendy styles.

A sandal trend I am noticing, and totally loving, right now are these super tassel, pom and beaded up numbers. HERE, HERE and HERE are a few pairs that I think are super cute and affordable.
