The Ultimate Matchmaker

The Ultimate Matchmaker

One of my best friends, Jamie, who I have been friends with since high school, has always been an incredibly supportive friend. Through all kinds of life's challenges she has always been there to support me and even give me a good old dose of honest truth, which is one of the qualities I love most about her.

Jamie was with me the whole time I was riding the in-vitro roller coaster.  She never asked me too much, or too little, was just always there in most perfect way.  Pretty remarkable for someone who did not experience this type of journey, to be so understanding, which just speaks to her character, and my good choices in friends, wink, wink.

Now it is always a proud accomplishment to introduce two people and have things workout. I actually introduced my cousin to one of my husband's friends from high school; they are now married with two kids!  You can't help but always want the best for people who are close to you; people who you love.

One match, however, that is perhaps the best match in history, was orchestrated by no one other than my soul sister for life... Jamie.

Jamie went to work the following day after I gave her the update that we would be looking into surrogacy since things weren't working out.  She was chatting with some co-workers and expressed how sorry she felt for her friend and explained my situation.

One of her co-workers, then said to her, "oh really, I have actually always wanted to do that for someone. I wouldn't go through an agency, but have always said if I knew someone I would want to do it."  Jamie suggested that she go home and talk it over with her husband first because she would not want to tell her friend (me) and get her hopes up if it really wasn't a possibility.  She assured Jamie that she had in fact already discussed it with her husband and to go ahead and give her my number.

Jamie contacted me that night.  I was in shock and excited. I was just praying that it wasn't too good to be true.  Next step was to give her co-worker a call...

That phone conversation will be in another post, but before I end, I must send out the ultimate shout out...

Jamie, my matchmaker, my friend, my sister, words of gratitude do no justice for how I feel towards you.  In a world where negativity often steals the limelight, and jealousy between friends too often occurs, you have proven time and time again that genuine good does in fact exist.  You quite literally have always had my back (or in this case uterus, lol).  I love you, sister.
