Packing Guide for a Miami Beach Girl's Trip

Packing Guide for a Miami Beach Girl's Trip

Ok, maybe I shouldn't have called it a "girl's trip" I mean I am a 34 year old woman with three children, but hey, momma's gotta liiiive a little!! So how, you ask, did I pull off a trip with one of my bestie's sans kiddos? It's called having the best husband in the world. Not even kidding. My husband knows and understands what it is like to stay home everyday with three children, ages three and under.  Don't get me wrong I wouldn't change my life for anything, but it can be stressful, tiring, and after a long winter, I needed a little escape.

Part of the fun of going away was figuring out what I wanted to wear. I have been to Miami before and already had in mind the vibe I wanted to go with...bright vibrant colors, poms, tassels, and BUDGET friendly.  If you have been here before you know I love to get my shop on but I am not willing to overpay when I don't have to.

Let's start..

Day 1 Sunday (Airport attire)

I live in Connecticut so it was chilly and wanted to wear layers so that I would be comfortable.

I only packed one carry on (incredible, I know), and a black backpack

Sunday Daytime:

Upon our arrival, there was a gay pride parade going on right in front of our hotel on Ocean Drive. We ran upstairs and I threw on my most "festive" looking bathing suit and cover up combo. The cover up, I found recently at Marshall's and it has adorable pom pom accents.

  • Cover Up, Marshalls
  • Black Bikini, a couple years ago from Target)
  • Lace Up Sandal, last year from Target)
  • Sunglasses
  • Tassel Earrings, Burlington Coat Factory
  • Hat, older from Nordstrom

Sunday Evening:

We first had dinner at an Italian restaurant called Dolce. I had their bolognese with freshly made pasta, it was amazing, highly recommend.

We went to Nikki Beach Sunday night for some drinks on their outdoor patio.

Monday: Beach Day

I looked everywhere for a two piece suit that fit me comfortably. Found this one at Target (surprise, surprise).  I also really love and wanted one of those big sun hats with the cute saying on them. For the past year I have been eyeing them, but truth be told the ones I have seen have cost more than I was willing to spend.  I was psyched when I found THIS one at Francesca's for 30 bucks! I gotta tell you gold metallic flip flops are seriously a must have for me. I couldn't find my pair and literally stopped mid packing to run to Kohl's to buy another pair.  They are the same pair I couldn't find and I LOVE them.  My sunglasses were 12 bucks from Nordstrom.

Monday Evening: Dinner and drinks

  • Romper
  • Gold heels (or flops for a daytime or more casual look),
  • Bangles, older from Charming Charlies

Tuesday Night: Nightclub for some dancing

  • Dress
  • Lace up heels
  • Earrings, recent from Burlington Coat Factory
  • Bangles, older from Charming Charlies

Wednesday: Walking and touring the city

Thursday Evening:

Friday:

We were sadly heading home but had a chunk of the morning to get in a last bit of sun!

That sums up what I packed and wore on my little Miami girl's getaway! Until next year Miami!

Nicole
