Hosting a Pancakes and Pajama Holiday Party

Hosting a Pancakes and Pajama Holiday Party

If you are a mother of little ones, chances are you are up early.  During these long cold days I am always trying to think of fun things to do with my kiddos.  I'm not sure about your kids, but mine can be picky about food at times, and yet have never declined a good ol' pancake.

My friend Caitlin, who is also a blogger, an awesome mommy blogger actually, (her blog is Confessions of a Northern Belle), wrote an great post, HERE, on everything you need to know about getting some adorable and festive Christmas pajamas for your whole family.  Here is pic of Caitlin and her super cute girls, Annabelle and Ailey.

So this got me thinking, why not have a little playdate but kick it up a notch and have everyone wear their jammies, and eat holiday themed pancakes?!

All I did was make regular box mixed pancakes (you can get fancy and make your own recipe if you'd like), and then bought some additional ingredients to transform the regular pancakes to look like elves, a reindeer, a snowman, and Santa.

Ingredients I used:

  • Pancakes
  • Green grapes
  • Strawberries
  • Blueberries
  • Whipped Cream
  • Bacon
  • Sprinkles
  • Syrup
  • Chocolate chips
  • Bananas

This was not a crazy huge party, Caitlin came over with her girls and my cousin came over with her 3 adorable boys. The children at my house for our little holiday pancake party were all ages 4 and under.  If you have kids who are a little older I am sure they would enjoy this kind of party as well, and you could add in a hot chocolate bar which is always a hit. I did a post last year on how to set up a hot chocolate bar, you can find it HERE

The holidays are mayhem, hosting can be mayhem, and being home with little ones is OFTEN mayhem. Honestly, this was such an easy get together to host, the kids had fun and it was nice to share in the crazy with other moms. The pajamas on the kiddos were, of course, adorable and I am going to take Caitlin's advice and totally make matching pajamas a yearly tradition; I am sure my husband is going to be SO excited!!!

Wishing you all the happiest of holidays!

xo,

Nicole
