Faceoff: The Stay at Home Moms vs. The Working Moms

Faceoff: The Stay at Home Moms vs. The Working Moms

Since entering the world of social media, in addition to staying home with my kids over the past two plus years I have noticed quite the passive aggressive battle going on between Team Stay at Home Mom versus Team Working Mom.  Who's job is harder? Who's kids are better off? Who is more dedicated? Who is more privileged?

I've seen articles posted and shared about how studies prove that children of working mother's are more successful later in life, and other studies concluding the contrary.

I can speak on both experiences, I went back to work after a year after my oldest son was born, then took another few years off when my twins were born.  Both scenarios are equally challenging. I am going back to work as a teacher next year and all three of my children at that point with be in school/childcare full time. I do have a hard time wrapping my head around how exactly I am going to get everything done in addition to working.  But guess what, I will adjust and it will work out.

In the war between the stay at home mom versus the working mom, everyone is the winner, all very, very tired, but winning nonetheless.  It's not about studies and articles and peoples opinions. It is about YOU and what is right for YOUR FAMILY.  Unfortunately social media and the internet have made it far too easy for people to have a platform to get on their high horses. Ignore that sh*t.  Love your children, do the best you can and do what you feel in your heart is best for you. It's not a competition.

Can't we all just get on "Team Mom's Just Trying to Get Through Each Day?!!?? " Just saying.

Nicole
