Easy and Thoughtful Valentine's Day Gestures
I am not one to go overboard with "Hallmark holidays," particularly Valentine's Day. I don't like the thought of receiving over priced flowers, eating an over-priced dinner and don't appreciate chocolates while trying to eat healthy between now and summer. What a Debbie Downer right?! Fortunately, this makes my husband's life very easy!
I do like the idea of acknowledging loved ones with simple gestures, helping my son make cute Valentine's Day cards for his classmates, and cooking a meal I know the family can enjoy together. So that's what I'm doing folks!
So instead of buying my husband a card this year and writing in a special note, I found this adorable little book of notes. There are fifteen of them so I will start at the beginning of February and he will receive a special note in his lunchbox every day through Valentine's Day! How cute is that? I found this book at a local gift shop, A Pocket Full of Posies. You can check out their site or look online for something similar. OR, you could of course use a post-it or small piece of paper and still write your loved ones a little message each day.
I also thought about people in my life who are single, widowed, going through tough times, etc. that would appreciate a sentimental gesture that much more. I am making a list of people I want to send cards to and handwriting a special note to each. My local Dollar Tree has cards two for a dollar, making it that much more affordable and easy to send the gift of love and thoughtfulness!
So that is on my bucket list for Valentine's Day! Anyone else have special ways to celebrate?!
